For this months #gnarlygirlgang interview I interviewed one of the quirkiest girls I know, Felicia. She's a skateboarder from SoCal, with an amazing style.
How long have you been skateboarding?
Since May of 2015.
What got you into skating?
I started downhill longboarding first then just decided to start skateboarding one day, but it all started as transportation! Plus everyone skated where I’m from.
Yea, transportation is where a lot of people start.
If you could make a professional skate video to one song, what would you pick?
Oh geez this is a hard one. It has to be "Loaded" by MellowHype or "Lovesick" by Mura Masa.
Yessss I love those.
You always come through with cute fits. What are some of your favorite brands?
3. Fucking Awesome (FA)
Sick choices, it would be so dope to collab with them someday.
What trick are you working on right now?
Mostly backside stuff like back 50-50 and back 180.
What were you the most stoked to land?
My first kickflip and front rock pivot to fakie.
Best park you've ever skated?
Channel street (free channel street!)
What skate spots / parks are on your bucket list?
Anything in NY, Colorado or Spain.
Whats your set up like right now?
8.75 Antihero with Mob/LitWoods grip, Independent trucks, tie-dye Spitfire wheels and Bronson bearings.
Do people ever have anything to say about your skin color or gender when it comes to skateboarding?
Yes of course both lol.
What do you love about skate culture?
That we are all different in our own unique ways and can all be part of and accepted into one category together and enjoy each other
Would you change anything about it?
Just the rage I like the fun rage but the negative rage isn’t so tasteful.
True. I can think of so many times I've seen people mess up tricks and just start banging their board on things.
What advice do you have for other skaters?
Stop getting frustrated, live your skate life to the fullest don’t take everything so serious.
JUST HAVE FUN!
